Xbox 360 Music Converter

Xbox 360 Music Converter

This is a very simple program. For anyone who has lost a CD, and only ripped it to their Xbox, you can now EASILY sync it to your PC!

First off you do need to connect your hard drive to your PC, somehow... ftp will work =)

Browse on Partition 3(or hdd1) for the Content folder, inside is something called mindex. Get that whole mindex folder.

Download my program(below) and point it to the mindex folder. It will let you choose how you want to sort the files(three basic choices) and click Sort, let it do it's job, should only take a few seconds, depending on how much music you have, and you are all set. You now have a folder of awesome WMA files =)

Features:
- Program will only touch Xbox 360 format WMA files, so you can throw it to a folder full of shortcuts, txt, rar, etc. it will only open the xbox 360 wma files
- Program gives you three options of sorting. "Artist - Trackname.wma" "Artist/Artist-Trackname.wma" or "Album/Artist/Artist-Trackname.wma"
- Strips the custom wma header to allow for PC playback in any WMA compatible player
- No need to sort through your files. It will recurse and find only the music! Just get your whole mindex and it will do the rest.

Future Project:

The reverse of this!
Why I didn't do it first?
There is one file, called mindex.xmi. Basically it is an XML file, however it's in hex... That isn't too bad, the problem is coming up with a way to look at what is in your current mindex.xmi, then ADD songs/albums to it. Also at this current time I don't have the mindex.xmi file totally broken down. I can see everything is done in entries at 20 somethings intervals. ex. artist 20D, album 40D, genre 60D(just made those up) but there is obviously a sequence.

If anyone has any suggestions to this project please PM me or email: admin@directscripts.org
